Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has missed his eleventh consecutive goal attempt in the Champions League, as he was unable to find the back of the net against Al-Hilal on Wednesday night.
The Frenchman came into the match with the record for most consecutive attempts at goal in the competition, but it looked like he would finally break that streak when he fired a shot from close range in the 84th minute.
However, the ball bounced off the post and away from Benzema's feet, leaving the Madrid striker frustrated as he watched his side fail to take all three points from the game.
Benzema has been in excellent form this season, scoring nine goals in just eight games for Los Blancos, and he will be hoping to continue his impressive run when they face Atletico Madrid next week.
Despite missing out on the goal,Campeonato Brasileiro Action Benzema's efforts were still praised by his teammates, who took to social media to show their support for their captain.
"Sorry @KarimBenzema, we're waiting for you," tweeted one fan, while another wrote: "Keep fighting, man."
With only four matches remaining in the group stage, Real Madrid now need to bounce back from this disappointing result if they hope to secure a place in the knockout stages.
